Volcan El Teide

My days in Tenerife have come to an end but I haven’t had the energy to write about many things I have experienced during my short holiday there. To simply put it though, Tenerife is beautiful.

Many holidaymakers head to the south of the Island for its’ famous resorts.Especially British and German tourists love a good package holiday in Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas or Costa Adeje. However, there is much more than this to Tenerife. The Northern part of the Island offers great opportunities for trekking, kayaking, hiking and more.

During my visit, I visited Teide National Park which is a Unesco World heritage site. You can also take a cable car to the top but I didn’t do that. Be ready to feel altitude though as even without climbing the volcano, you will be at 2000 meters.

The park is used for the studies related to Mars due to similarities in their environmental conditions and geological formations. Also, they filmed the Clash of Titans here!  Don’t forget to pick up a jacket though as it gets cool up there.
