The Bund

No Shanghai visit is complete without stopping at the Bund. This place is crowded day and night, a typical tourist trap, but free and also a must-do when visiting SH. Across the river stand the skyscrapers of the Pudong District. When all neons are lit, the views are amazing.

Behind you are the colonial or neo-classical grand buildings of the old Shanghai, circa 1920, perhaps where it has all started. And you are surrounded by people, all walks of life.
